Mechanical Design Engineer

Control Concepts needs a Test Systems/ Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise to design assembly and test systems for automated assembly, testing, and packaging of AC & DC electronic power control products. The ideal candidate will have a full range of responsibility from concept to production, including wiring sketches, exploded view assembly procedures, test fixture creation and programming, automated assembly, and documentation support. This position requires a creative problem solver that understands Design For Manufacturing (DFM), automation, product and process flow, and lean manufacturing technology. - Design and build automated assembly & test fixtures.
- Programing of assembly line and test fixtures using Labview and C#.
- Test procedure creation and maintenance.
- Automated Optical Inspection using major vision company products.
- Interfacing with SQL databases for workflow process management and storing product performance.
- Plastic injection molded part creation.
- Work closely with manufacturing to monitor and improve efficiency and output.
- DFM review with manufacturing and engineering team.
- Maintain engineering documentation, revisions, and change control.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Customer support as required.
- Traveling up to 5%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
- 4+ years practical experience in designing and programming automated test systems in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years programming with Labview
- 2+ years programming with C#
- 2+ Experience with SQL database interface and queries.
- Strong knowledge of product/process flow.
- Design for high volume manufacture including robotic automation.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks.
- Excellent problem solver with a high degree of engineering curiosity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment of an emerging growth company.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the operation and use of Microsoft based communications.
- U.S. citizen or authorization to work legally in United States.
